Military Boots Blog: Marine Corps Recalls 8,000 Bates Boots

Recently, the Marine Corps recalled 8,000 rugged all terrain boots from the front lines. The defects of the military boots included separation of the stitching and the seams and eyelets falling off.

The Marine Corps only ordered the Bates version of the RAT. The design was not cited as the cause of the problems. Lt. Col. Kevin Reilly attributed the defects to the manufacturing process and use of improper materials.
