Timberland will be keeping you on track this coming spring.
The New Hampshire-based boot manufacturer showed off its upcoming line at Outdoor Retailer 2011 in early August. While Timberland hiking boots are known best for their waterproofing, the new footwear for women really focuses on getting a grip on the trail.
The women’s Trail Wave collection, which will hit stores next spring, transcends the season with components that are beneficial year-round. It uses a 3D technology that combines a wave-shaped outsole with a dual-density midsole and outsole component to increase stability and traction. Its Trail Wave technology uses those wave-shaped lugs to absorb impact at different angles. Along with Timberland’s Gripstick rubber, there will be little that could get you off track. The multi-sport shoes will also feature ion-mask waterproofing.
On the other end of the spectrum, the Radler Trail Camp Moc ($60) was Timberland’s Outdoor Retailer darling. A new arrival for fall 2011, the lightweight, compact shoe hung mid-air from strings outside of the Timberland booth, featuring just how feather-like the easily packable shoe can be.
The zip-up Radlers are meant to be an after-hike alternative for when you reach your campsite and just want to relax. The idea is to store them in your backpack and whip ’em out when something more lightweight and flexible is required.
Forget the trail, this stylish shoe can used in all sorts of everyday situations. We wouldn’t be surprised to see it pop up even on city streets, especially since Timberland is offering it in so many fun colors for both men and women.
With all these fun styles, we can only guess what Timberland will have in store at the next Outdoor Retailer in 2012.
What do you think of Timberland’s new packable shoe? Would you carry it along in your backpack?
