Partnering with Digital Concealment Systems, Safariland announced it will be offering exclusive Advanced Tactical Concealment System (A-TACS) body armor. The information was released in email form on March 17, 2011.
“We are excited to add the A-TACS line of camouflage offerings to our Protech brand,” said Dan McNeil, category director of armor tactical products. “Our partnership with A-TACS is another step in the right direction of providing products that meet and exceed the requirements of law enforcement officers and agencies serving our communities every day.”
Boasting an enhanced concealment pattern, the A-TACS camouflage utilizes a greater range of intermingled natural colors. With the base color a neutral tan, it is designed to easily blend in with a number of environments – urban, rocky or arid. The A-TACS process turns away from the standard square digital pixels. Instead, it uses small organically shaped pixels that are arranged in larger groupings, which results in a pattern within a pattern that better conceals wearers.
The A-TACS color option will be available in all of Protech’s tactical carriers and soft tactical armor accessories like yokes, throats, collars, biceps, groin protectors and pouches.
Shotgun stocks are now also available in the A-TACS camouflage. Speedfeed I shotgun sets are made in a traditional shotgun butt stock configuration. They have checkering to ensure a secure grip. Stock sets include a butt stock, forend and recoil pad. Speedfeed III stocks feature a one piece pistol grip. They include a butt stock with integral pistol grip, forend and recoil pad. Both models are available for the Remington 870, Remington 1100, the Remington 11-87 and the Mossberg 500/590.
